The sales comparison approach is the most common way investors analyze potential real estate deals for profit potential. We wanted to share a wonderful video that illustrates the process that is used by Realtors alike to bring their clients a full CMA report.

Note that although the report in the video has a lot of great data, our software simplifies this process to the "must know" decision making factors. In short analysis that takes 30 minutes to prepare the traditional way is done in 30 seconds with REI AutoComp!

REI AutoComp began as a simple spreadsheet to help the analysis team in our office. Its mission was to be more efficient and productive with the process of running comparable sales on potential real estate deals. We took the sheet as far as we could with the limited MS Office Excel skills we had.

Below you will see the transformation of the software form a garbled, to a "not so garbled" software. The first two versions were drastically different and we followed this path to bring us to the awesome software it eventually became. We'll post more versions in the near future so you can really get an idea of how hard we worked to perfect this software.

This is REI AutoComp v0.2

This version required the user to "CUT AND PASTE" data from each website and the sheet would calculate the current market value of the home.

It was bulky and still a little redundant and time consuming but at least it brought all the comparables sales from 4 sources to one area for analysis.

This is REI AutoComp v0.3

This version still required the user to manually past data attained from the internet but we improved the interface a bit.

The new simpler look allow us to analyze more efficiently however the user still had to cut and paste the data from the 4 main comparable sources and then use a check box to manually pick the "best" comps.
